Tyler, Zoha, and Connor just walked in  and brought newspapers. They all went to go pass out newspapers to the classes and the class is empty. Daniella keeps passing by I think shes lost. My favorite  page is about Mulan. Daniella just came back and asked where she was. Ms. Nakada says that a gift that you can give someone for free is by using words. She just read a poem by Robert Frost and she's explaining what the poem means. I just noticed that in the picture Mr. Hastings is wearing nail polish...

Well I'm doing the blog today, i really didn't want to do it but here it is. We are now doing are winter Haiku, it seems fun.

My Haiku is....
Snow is falling, Presents under the tree, it is Christmas day.

Seems good to me. Well, the classes are making there haikus or doing there HS Research project. I don't know what to do. I want to do the haiku but I also need to work on my project. Oh well. I'll think I'll do the haiku. I made a Christmas tree with presents underneath. Zoha says hi, and Mona, Elise, and Camila told me to mention them so here it is you are all awesome. AH it's hard to make a good tree with ornaments by ripping.

So Jadon read his short blog at the beginning of class which btw got erased for some strange reason.
Then he picked me to do the blog... well actually I sorta asked him to pick me sooooo.....  Justin walked by and threw something away and asked me to say that I hate him well.. you're annoying Justin but I don't hate you.

Now we are going over our scores and I'm not sure weather I'm supposed to be blogging or writing...... awkward. Now everyone is talking and Zoha just said Squirrel, and she told me to say that she says hi.

Hw R.J 13.1-13.5 due Friday

So... I have been picked for the blog again for the second time, although I thought I would have cleverly avoided it for much longer but whatever. Like I said before, it's better to get this over with. Ms. Nakada just asked everyone to hold up their books but I don't know if she can see me raising mine in the air. The problem with writing these blogs is its hard to balance writing this and doing classwork. I was told by my grandpa Skylar to mention him so here goes nothing, take your pills!

Ms. Nakada is now reading the children's introduction of Three Cups of Tea. Kimberly just jumped in to read further. My blog isn't really exciting or funny but I suppose that isn't the purpose. What is the purpose anyway? Ms. Nakada probably said why but I guess I wasn't listening :P

The description of what happens in Afghanistan (probably spelled that wrong) is pretty sad yet informative. Oh, yeah, Connor, Rita, and Isabella also told me to mention them....well you got mentioned :P. Now we are talking about K2 and how trecherous the climb is. I would like to climb it one day but I would probably die up there. :P

Jeez it took forever to figure out how to get that picture up there. Iwas constantly copying and pasting and clicking and all that good stuff but I finally got it :D That better be the right picture too. If I find out it's just some random mountain in Alaska then all my work will have been for nothing. Now we're talking about how Greg (the guy in the story) sees his guide come across a chasm in a box suspended by a wire; if you fall it's sudden death for you. It kind of reminds of me of that hilltop restaurant in china that has an extremely dangerous pathway too it.

Anyways back to the topic at hand! We got a few minutes to write why we want to go to the high school we chose. I didn't have a lot to say but it was short, sweet, and to the point, like strawberries :P with this special schedule that's been going on I have a lot of time in this class which means I have more time to write the blog. People are now reading why they want to go to their high school. I don't think I'm going to volunteer this time. Justin wanted to read his blog but Ms. Nakada shut him down like a pro. :D Some kids are screaming like crazy and running down the halls. Ms. Nakada is viwwing the Uni website for information about that school and now she is on the Hami site. I like saying that....Hami, like bacon! Now we have to get started on our research and I'm probably going to get tons of bad information. Everyone is rushing around the room to get a hold of their precious laptops. Ella just came up to me and took the laptop that my laptop was on.

Great, so Justin picked me for the blog (HUGE surprise i never expected :O). Right now, Ms. Nakada just finished asking for novel numbers. Mine is A9... I feel so special. I just realized Julia is sitting behind me :D Hi, Julia!!! HEY OK SO ITS ME ELLA! So, I picked myself for the blog today because I'm just that cool. Anyways Ms. Nakada is talking about excerpts or something and she's reading us her excerpt from her book :D It sounds like a really fetch book so I like, you know, totes wanna read it. This kid walked in....... I HAVE TO SNEEZEE!!! Ok now Ms. Nakada's book sounds happy then depressing then happy like you have to lose your memory? But that would be pretty cool cuz you know. Oh BOYS!!!! There's so much detail.......dang *clap clap* Ms. Nakada is sending people downstairs for fundraiser things. I didnt do the fundraiser because it's too much work to get money and put in the envelope then turn it in. People are reading their excerpts outloud. Julia's book sounds sad........BUT JULIA YOU'RE COOL HEHEHEH. Mica just said hi to me then left the room hehehe. Ok so the sun is totally gleaming in my face so I moved back to my seat. Today we met in the computer lab to finish doing some NaNoWriMo stuff. Camila read her blog then we turned in our novel to Ms. Nakada. We need to make a paper that has both our novel summary and excerpt. It is supposed to be 500-700 words but mine is only 413.  Daniella and Camila are two amazing people..enough said! ;) (Daniella wrote that)
Ms. Nakada is having us correct our narratives, but I wasn't in class when we did that. Ms. Nakada is now showing us Creat Space for when we are done with our novels.

I can't really think about anything because I'm extremely nervous about the play tommorrow. I have to wear an ugly hat and I just don't want to do it! Kimmi waved and said hi to me, and d=Dulce talked to me about her nnovel, Dulce's novel is really intense. You all should read......I'M IN IT!!^__^ OH NO!!! I have to do reading journals!!o.O now I see mr. greaney talking to Malaysia. (i honestly do not who that is cyncere just told me what her name was:P) Theres nothing else to really write about so ill talk about random stuff!:D hey who watched BREAKING DAWN?! I did!          Well I guess I gotta do the blog again thanks to Dulce >.< So we came in Dulce read the blog and I got chosen nowI'm sitting here thinking of what to type :p Remember how in the first blog I said I was going for straight A's well, I gave up. It's too hard but at least I don't have a Fail :D So today in E.t iIgot a homemade cookie from Ms. Nakada because Oregon lost to USC. The Cookie was really good well now everyone is working on their novels So I'm sitting here typing and out of no where Kimberly has this crazy idea to come up to me and spray me with perfume. Now I smell like a girl >.< So it's so silent because they're having their word war for 20 minutes. This mini ESA football is so awesome. I want one :D I can't wait till Wednesday because we get out early and we get Free Dress. I really dont understand why we have to wear uniforms. On Thursday I am going to volunteer at a convention center and set up a meal for those that can't afford it. Ms.Shanley asked me if I wanted to and since there is nothing else I might as well go. I don't know what to write in my novel. I'm stuck and I have a feeling im going to get chosen for the blog in ET tomorrow because they told Jenny to choose me. I really don't want to do it right now. The quack sound came up so I guess it means two things: one they are done with the war and second the bell is about to ring so see you guys tomorrow bye!(:

 So class started off with me finding my new seat alone in the front! Then Ms. Nakada started to read a Pep Talk by the author of Coraline. I forgot his name. The pep talk was about how not to give up writing. The author was saying to keep on writing because your almost finished? Then everyone got thier alphasmarts, flashdrives, computers, and notebooks to start thier NaNoWriMo. Mrs. Nakada started the Word War 2 for pride! ( no lolipops). Then the duck finally quacked. Ms. Nakada's score was 166! Corey got 261! Mica got 353! Tyler got 80. Then we started putting chairs up! Bye!

   Ok  I really really DON'T want to do the blog so I'll make it short. Right now Connor is passing out our SPAS  because we are correcting them. I hope I do well. I got 12 out of 12 on my anotations (: We just got a point and we now have 7. Everyone is talking about the question about the shark and the fish having tea, and it's really loud. I just realized I'm using Ms. Nakada's pen oops sorry! Hi Julia! Zoha shut up please. I got number 9 wrong ): Ms. Nakada is checking reading journals but I dont have them. Ella is amazing, pretty, she's such a great friend and she is better than me. I have to keep it or she will hit me in the face with her computer. We are doing NaNoWriMo now. I already had like 3,000 words but I hated my story. I started over and now i have 2,000. I better get started so bye bye for now. Daniella wants me to say something about her so.... she is a very good singer and I'm jealous -.-. Ok I really have to get started on my novel. Okay, so Julia picked me for the blog today which is good because I wanted to get it over with. Apparently, everyone wants to be mentioned in here, but I'll do that last. Right now Ms. Nakada is passing out composition books for people who are writing their NaNoWriMo's. We are signing the contract.. it sounds important. Cambria singed mine and I signed Isabella's, Sharon's, and Ella's. I felt like I was signing autographs. We are starting to write our novels and I'm pretty excited. I never thought I was going to write a book in my life, but now I'm doing it which is pretty cool. The room is silent and the only thing I can hear is the clicking of people keyboards.  A couple people read the first few sentences of their stories and they are really good. Tyler passes by with a tissue or something and says hi. I'm so jealous of Julia's story!

Hola! It's halloween today and everyone looks awesome. I'm in a panda suit. We started off class with Ms. Nakada playing a song about the Oregon Ducks on YouTube. Elise snuck up behind me and told me to mention her. So I did. She's a princess for today.

We were going to watch a scene from Macbeth (you know, "Bubble bubble toil trouble [something else...] by the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes."), but she couldn't find it or something.

Emma sent a note to me. It said, "hola chika!" She got mad at me when I threw it away. Tyler's costume makes me hungry. He's a Chinese takeout box.

WE'RE TAKING A SPA! AHHHH! It's actually not that big of a deal, but I don't want to. :(
We had to write annotations for every paragraph of a story. It was about a person at sea and how hard it was. I don't understand why you would want to go to sea and starve, but this person did.

Yay! Tomorrow is the first day of NaNoWriMo!!!! I'm super excited.

The costume contest winners were just announced. CAMBRIA (the diet coke can) AND TYLER (the chinese takeout box) BOTH WON FOR MOST ORIGINAL! YAAAY! I just realized that Coke and chow mien would make a good combo meal.

Ok I'm finally doing the blog which I kind of volunteered to do... Well, Mica and Dulce volunteered for me so... I partially wanted to do it but partially not because I didn't want to FORCE someone to pick me. I want it to be their choice, sorry Christine... Ok we're going over things we need to know for the SPA test like elements of plot, grammar, apositives, etc. now we opened our notebooks to A.B.A.T.H. We are going to give a B.A.T.H. to Robert Frost's, Nothing Gold Can Stay. Right now Ms. Nakada asked Ella if she was with her. I guess she though Ella was asleep or something, I dunno. Ms. Nakada thinks Corey is on fiaaaa today. We are looking at analogies (comparisons) in the poem. The literary references (allusions) from The Outsiders are: Gone with the Wind and Nothing Gold Can Stay. She suggests that when we write our novels we use allusions. How did they just come up with the subject Twilight when the question was 'Do you believe nothing gold can stay?'.???!!? I heard someone say vampires and then I heard Twilight. Ohh well.

We are turning in our book projects. A pile at the aisle. Is that how you spell it??? I don't know. I asked but no one answered, oh well. Isabella passed by and told me to mention her which was going to happen because I was going to say she told me to pick her for the blog next (Monday). Ms. Nakada says if you are unhappy with you're Outsiders essay you will get time to revise it. We are now giving Maya Angelou a B.A.T.H. We are still discussing about Maya Angelou. I heard Mica and Dulce say something about pineapples? Wonder what that was about. Ms. Nakada highly recomends the book I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings. Now, we got into baseball, yesterday's game (Rangers and Cardinals), which I jumped into too. Heheeheee. Ms. Nakada thinks her right side of the class is asleep.

We are now suppossed to write a summary on our own. I noticed that I probably have the most detailed (of classwork and what goes on) blog which is weird because I thought it wouldn't be long. Now we're talking about softball and Tyler wants to tryout but then he got confused and we laughed because he wanted to try out for something he doesn't know about. We have to write how many words a day we are writting for NaNoWriMo. Ms. Nakada strongly, strongly, strongly suggests we do section one for all our characters in our novel. Ahhh a bug got on me! Oh, it's gone. Well, I got it off, but same thing. It's gone either way. We have to start filling out the character questionaire. Isabella came back and told me to write about her and I told her I already did. Owww! Nestor hit me in the head! NESTORRR!!! Mica and Dulce also questioned me if I included them in my blog. I said yes. We are packing up. Now putting up chairs. Dulce tried to type. I didn't let her, hahaha. I'm going to be Boo on Monday, check me out!!!

Hi. In class, Ms. Nakada passes out folders to the class to put our work in. We take out our journals and write our scores down. After adding up our score, we divide it out of 249 points to find our percentage and our grade. We then make cornell notes called :ABATH and Theme. ABATH stands for Author's, Beliefs, Attitude, Traditions, and Heritage.We talk about  S. E. Hinton's bath and the recurring themes in The Outsiders and in the story "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings." After Ms.Nakada tells us what to do when we are in the computer lab. We are to log in to the NaNoWriMo site with a unique user name and password. Then we have to change our word count goal and fill out the author info. We are off to the computer lab. Bye.

Everyone has just turned quiet and all I hear is whispering. My model book is The Outsiders. Taylor LOVES DRAMA. I can't hear any one. They are making too much noise outside (Lawn Mower). Zoha doesn't like Harry Potter :O. Julia hates Twilight. Everyone thinks Bella is so annoying. I think no one in this class likes Twilight. Finally, the lawn mower left.=) I really hated reading The Hobbit in 7th grade. I feel this blog is gonna be boring. Two girls that came in stared and at my blog (Awkward). Hey What's Up? It's Elise!!!! Today I'm writing the blog for today....thanks to Zoha. So right now we are listening to Ms. Nakada's Personal Narrative, called Valentine's Day Surpise, about how her best friend propsed to her. How touching...what's funny is that her soon-to-be fiance didn't go on one knee, instead, he gave her a box (i think, it was kind of hard to hear).

So anyway now we are are getting our alphasmarts and start to type our personal narratives. Camila is giving me hints to mention her in my blog (btws I did). Well, I got to write on my alphasmart so I'll be right back!!!! While I am writing I relize that there is a Chris Brown concert tonight (awkward, I know, but I could have gone but I decided not to because I wouldn't be able to go to school the next day). So anyway my personal narrative is about me falling out of a tree. It's more intese then it sounds. (It's so quiet in here, awkward silence...) Nevermind it just broke. I'm back. I just finished my personal narrative and now a lot of people are. YAY!!!!!!!!!!

Right now, we are writing in our notebooks about a women, Chimamanda Adichie, who shares her stories and experiences that led her to her life as a writer today.  As we watch a Ted Talk about it, we discuss what Chimamanda truly means.  She used her power to tell her story of "The Danger of a Single Story."

Since we finished with the video, we are taking a little break, then we go back into our notebooks for notes about writing a personal narrative.  Our assignment is to draw your personal "rollercoaster" of your life with at least 10 significant events that has happened to you so far.  IT'S SO HOT!! Hey, it's Taylor!! Well, I got picked to do the blog, thanks to Nestor. :P So today we are discussing whether or not Ponyboy will stay gold. We are actually doing an essay about our point of view whether or not he will stay gold.  There are A LOT of none believers about staying gold can last forever; very discourging:( Ms. Nakada is helping us with our drafting for this essay during our "Writer's Workshop."  While Ms. Nakada read the pessimistic essay, it felt very depressing. However, her optimistic essay was so inspiring.  The telephone just rang. . . . . . . WHICH HAPPENS TO BE OUR PIZZA.  We are having a pizza party today as a reward for having 120 box tops, thanks to Ruth :D  Our pizza has just arrived and our class went completely bananas. I don't think I've ever seen a class this excited before! MMMMMM, Lexi and I are sharing a pepperoni pizza! Oh.My.Gosh. Zoha just ate SEVEN pieces of pizzas and chugged down root beer. So this is the second time this week I'm doing a blog thanks to Mica and Sophia. (x 
Right now they are correcting the tests I'm not correcting one because I'm doing this blog :D I hope I got 
a good grade on the test because my goal is to get straight A's in school. (Even though I'm not sure I could get those grades). It's been a while and they are still grading the tests. I guess it was pretty hard to correct. I got 27/30. I guess that's good(: She is letting us do makeups if we want. We are now talking about the pizza thing for tomorrow. She is asking what kind of pizza we want. We are very behind because of the ice cream & soda on Tuesday & because we'll have pizza tomorrow. Right now we are doing response to literature & now we are starting a prewrite for a 5 paragraph essay on The Outsiders. Well, the bell is about to ring so I guess I'll see most of you later at "back to school night."

HW RJ 5.2-5.4

  Today I was chosen to do the blog. Since our class got 10 points for perfect attendance we got rewarded with the ice cream and soda party! Yaaaay! :D. We also have 120 box tops and we are going to be rewarded for that also. Friday we are going to have pizza. Ms. Nakada started to pass out ice cream. Some kids had root beer floats and some kids even poured coke into their ice cream. After we finished eating we discussed the needed things in a response to literature essay.

"Nothing Gold Can Stay"
Socratic Seminar
HW R. J.  5.1

         I was chosen to do the blog, I have been hiding from doing the blog for about 5 weeks (intell now). After I was chosen, Ms. Nakada and the class wrote notes down on poetry on "Nothing Gold Can Stay" by Robert Frost. Then are class got a point for perfect attendance today, we are having soda and ice cream tomorrow. What a great combination, Then Ms. Nakada taught us about a Socratic Seminar. After that Ms.Nakada asked for some volunteer's to participate in the Socratic Seminar on "The Outsiders." Most classmates had good opinions and points about the book. Then after that we wrote a reflection on the Socratic seminar.THE END.

   When class first started, Ms. Nakada took attendance (a few people were absent, not point for us D:) & then chose the next student to start the blog. After the blogger was picked (MEEEE!), Ms. Nakada reviewed everything we'd be answering on the test. Most of it was grammar, although we did review how to make a 'Perfect Paragraph'. Then the tests were handed out & the room went silent *hush* :O

After everyone finished the test, Ms. Nakada played the end of the movie, The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton. It was sad, a few people cried (*cough* ella & isabella *cough*), but most of us stayed strong xD anywhoo, the movie finished & now the class is over :3 yaaaay!

And just for all you nonbelievers...

BOOK PROJECTS DUE FRIDAY 

I was sadly picked to write the blog for today, 9/27/11. We started today by talking about our Vocab. 

(didn't we do that like 3 times already?!? ). Everyone gave examples of similes and idioms and all that. We even talked about Conjunctions ( conjunction junction, whats your function?). Then we started up The Outsiders and watched from the part where Johnny is in the hospital and passed out (that looked so fake) through the rumble where everyone was just rolling over each other (and then some people clapped at the end) and we're on though the part where Ponyboy and Dally go to see Johnny ("Stay gold PonyBoy, stay gold." Now we're at the end in the part where Ponyboy goes back home. THE END.

Today it was my turn to do the blog, I knew it was going to be me so I'm glad to get it over with
 We got our idioms back and our summer assingments. Emma just called me I wombat. Our first Book Project is due on friday, We can either do it on The Outsiders or any other book of our choice. I think it's supposed to be an AR book because we loose points if it's a non-AR book. The instructions are on the Course outline paper.

After that we watched The Outsiders which by the way is a really awesome movie!!!

Today I accidently have been chosen to do this blog. So, in the beginning people were talking about the Outsiders movie which was pretty exciting. Then we moved on to reviewing the vocabulary (which made the class pretty quiet), they reviewed dialect. Then we watched a catchy video about
CONJUCTION JUNCTION (Tyler was singing).
After that we watched the OUTSIDERS movie
WOOOO YAAAAAA AWESOME
I thought it would be a good movie. It was. It had nice actors.
Not really much happened after that so I guess this is it

Ella's bomb diggity dog blog which owns Tyler's not amazing blog

Well hello!!! So, I originally wanted to write the blog so I guess I can write it now (if that made sense) so we started the day off with getting our alpha smarts. Camila wanted me to say that she was amazing, Justin passed by and said hello, too......so did Elise. Ms. Nakada gave the people who hadn't finished their Perfect Paragraph some extra time and she assigned some people an alpha smart :) Everyone got up to go to the computer lab so we could print out our paragraph. So we just came back from the computer lab with our amazing and beautiful paragraphs :) Ms. Nakada passed back our paragraph so we could go over them and highlight. It took me a few minutes to notice that we were highlighting.....woops. Ms. Nakada went around to go collect our perfectly highlighted paragraphs. We took out our Outsiders books and reviewed Chapter 9. So, I was called to the counseling office to get my x-period changed so I have no idea what we were doing for the past 5 minutes, when I walked in we were just reading and reviewing. After that sad reading, we took out our vocabulary and added a new word, AND I HAVE ANOTHER BUG BITE!!!! The new words are grammar structures, subordination, and coordination.WRITERS BLOCK. I would write the definitions if I was able to but they're all like overlapped and stuff and I can barley see because I'm blind. We wrote our summary for the vocabulary words...YAY!!! Now everyone is packing up....I guess it's the end of period 6 today!! So peace out. I hope you enjoyed my amazing and beautiful blog!!!! BYEEEE

Today I was picked to do the blog. Not that happy, but it happens. First thing we did today was open our Outsiders book and started to read. We were reading over chapter 6 but then a loud lawnmower came by and made a lot of noise. We started to read some more and talked about the chapters. It looks like every one in the class loves this book and can not wait to read what happens at the end. After reading we opened our vocab and learned one new word: dialect. Sorry I could not write any more but we've got to go.

Platypus the Dinosaur's (Cambria's) Blog

Today I was chosen to do the blog thanks to someone named Tyler. We started off with checking the Reading Journals for last week. As the awesome Ms. Nakada checked all our RJs, we had to sit and read quietly, although no one was quiet until we got yelled at. It was silent, not one noise other than the crows. It was kind of awkward but I got over it as soon as I started reading. We all finally got to do something other than reading, but we had to take out our notes. We all get our english scores for our recent assignments. So far I got good grades so I'm happy, now all I need to do is maintain them. After everyone found out what scores they got, Ms. Nakada had us take out our vocabulary. We reviewed some words then learned some new ones, although we knew all the words we went over. Then, sadly the period was over and I didn't write that much. Well, there's my failed blog.

Tyler's Epic Blog of all Blog's Blog

Ok so first we started out with changing the backround for our blog since it was very hard to see. It was a tough decision with everyone yelling in Ms. Nakada's ear but it ended up being just clouds with yellow writing.  Then Ms. N went around checking reading summaries. Next, we took out our our Outsiders books and read part of chapter 4 aloud. We stopped in the beggining of the chapter, talked about it, and then skipped to chapter 5. We later transitioned to our Alpha Smarts and finished up our perfect paragraphs. Once I finished my summary, I helped Ms. N with setting up her new speaker system. After everyone was finished we moved on to our notebooks and took notes on "The Elements of Plot". The Elements are: climax, resolution, characters, setting, conflict, and rising action. The last thing we did was go over vocabulary, and we reviewed idiom, anology, and..... that's it, we ended it a little short. Well thanks for reading this even if it's what we have to do on the agenda. BYE!

Okay, so Jacob picked me to do the next blog, so here it goes. Today at the beginning of class, Ms. Nakada  took roll while the students wrote down the agenda and the homework. Ms. Nakada checked the homework. Then, the whole class started to review the homework and what happened in chapter 3 of The Outsiders. After, Ms. Nakada told the class to take out their reading journals to go over the step-up to writing. They talked about the different questions you could ask/write down when it comes to cornell notes. Then, Ms. Nakada assigned everyone and alpha smarts. It took a while because we had a little mix up. So after everyone got their Alpha Smarts, Ms. Nakada told everyone to type their paragraph that we wrote in class yesterday. Not everyone finished.Well, class is about to end, BYE!
