Friday's Blog, June 1st

Mr. Jones writing here!  Sorry for not having a post here in some time.  We had some issues with some students in the handling of the blog and it was shut down for awhile.  Hopefully we will be posting every day for the rest of the year.  If you were absent, it is your responsibility to check with me or one of your classmates regarding missing assignments.

Today was a short day due to the performance of "The Wizard of Oz"!!  WOW!!  I am so impressed with what our students accomplish----absolutely incredible.  Lots of laughs and drama too!  "THANK YOU" to every one who helped, even in the smallest way.

Today I collected the Reading Journals, 15.1 - 15.4 (Monday was a holiday, so no 15.5).  I also collected the Persuasive Essay/Projects.  If you didn't turn in any of this work, please get it turned in a.s.a.p.

We also took the second vocabulary test of the semester.  If you were absent, it is your responsibility to arrange a time with me to make it up.

Please return your "Glory Field" books as well as you textbooks that Ms. Nakada assigned to you at the beginning of the year!!  That's it for now....see you on Monday!!

Hey! It's Taylor, I'm doing the blog today!(: (Mr. Jones assigned it to me).   Today we have an hour and 30 minutes in class, so today we are doing a "10th Grade CST Challenge". The challenge required groups of four and we all had to answer questions on a piece of paper from the 10th grade CST released questions.  Which ever group gets the most correct will receive a prize. . . . . (i think its CANDYYYYYY!:] ) So we started correcting, and from the looks of my group's faces  and how non-enthusiactic they are at the correct answers, I don't think we're getting a prize. OH MY, Rita is trying to justify another answer. . . She's very good at debating and proving a point! dang it, our team didn't get candy! Sophia, Corey, and some other person's group got candy! Congrats to them :D My team didn't win. . . .and we didn't get a good score either :P Oh wait, we're playing ANOTHER ROUND. . . we're about to go over the correct answers! (Hope I get CANDYYY!)  YAAAY! Mr. Jones is giving the whole class candy! 


omg zoha is leaving me and not going to the same school as me. you know how sad that is...can you imagine life without zoha! oh well ill miss her.

Mr. Jones started the class by speaking about what we will be doing over the next few days. Mr. Jones said that he might have grades for our poetry projects within the next few weeks. We are now doing vocab.

okayy..so were about to read a story from the english book. umm..mr.jones is telling us a story about the time where they had computers for like the first time in like college or something like dat(x Mr. Jones just told tyler to put his water bottle away..he's peeling that thingy around it off or somethin;P and now he's talking about what you wanna major in in college and yea..mann..idk what to write anymore..Zohaa! i wanna see the poster you made me!D: u forgot to bring it yesterday>.< Mr. Jones is reading about the author of the story, Isaac Asimov. Woah..the title page of the story is funky looking 0.o oh barnicles!! i can't see the book...Jacob's sleeping on it u_u haha idk why but i just thought of the commercial..who knows this--> Chuck e cheese's!!!! It took me like 10 minutes just writing the agenda -__- anyways Mr.Jones told us that today is a day we have time too catch up on our work. by the way Mica said to mention that her birthday is tomorrow (: well today watever you get the point >.< Happy Birthday! :D well i dont kno what to say this gonna be short xP tyler & mr. Rita is reading a very emotional poem called "phenomenal woman"...and its really long. Okay its over *snap*snap*. Tyler's wearing a shirt with hearts and slits in the back and he seems pretty proud of it. Now we are going to do a timed test.. the explanation for it was 5 minutes and t --thats when it started-- It was really weird and about a persons "EQ". OH HEY! Another test! (TGF test)

(Mr. Jones writing)  :p   Yes, the agenda is long today, but there's lots to do!  Just to re-cap, we took 2 tests today: the "TGF" test and the "MAZE" test, a district mandated English test.  If you were absent, please schedule some time on Monday to take this test.  And Emely is right: the instructions were longer than the test itself. And....she's not exaggerating: students are given only 3 minutes to finish the MAZE test.
